Painting - colour and line

At the start of this year I did a colour and line project. It was very interesting to recap colour theory and the project enabled me to experiment with how colours interact, particular complimentary colours. Recently I have gone back to this project as I enjoyed it so much and I felt the work had far more mileage. As you can see I have gone from just one colour range per canvas to multiple colour groups. As this work has continued to develop I have realised I am very interested in how colour combinations can create a visual texture. I am really looking forward to working in the project through the summer.

  1. Like this one and the wall sculpture very much. Especially like the first two in this post - I can see what you mean about the interesting relationship between colour and texture.

  2. Thank you, the sculptures are going to be continued in next years practice I might try and scale them up, making them outdoor pieces which will then be able to incorporate shadow
